Industrial Equipment Mechanic

The incumbent functions as an Industrial Equipment Mechanic, WG-5352-10, in the Maintenance and Operations section within Engineering Service at the Marion VA Medical Center, Marion, IL.
Incumbent is responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance inspections and procedures on various building systems, and building service equipment.
Incumbent must have journeyman level electrical skills, including HVAC electrical, and working knowledge of various related trades such as plumbing and carpentry.
The incumbent installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and performs repairs on electrical circuits and equipment, fire and security alarms, plumbing, air conditioning equipment, and HVAC control systems.
Incumbent must be knowledgeable and experienced in troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD/VSD), and motor control circuits.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
