ASSOCIATE CHIEF, BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE (SOCIAL WORKER)
The Marion, Illinois VA Medical Center is currently seeking one (1) full-time Supervisory Social Worker (SW) to join the Behavioral Medicine Service Team to provide care.
Behavioral Medicine services include Core Mental Health Services, Mental Health in Primary Care, Homeless Program, Veterans Justice Outreach, Mental health Intensive Case Management (MHICM), Substance use Disorder Treatment Programs, Compensated Work Therapy, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Clinical Team (PCT), Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP), Suicide Prevention, and Consult Liaison Team.
The position will have 50% administrative responsibility and 50% clinical responsibility.
The Supervisory Social Worker, Associate Chief reports to the Chief, Behavioral Medicine and serves as the secondary advisor to the Chief of Staff (COS) in all Behavioral Medicine clinical, administrative, and quality performance matters.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Leading a multidisciplinary staff in the delivery of health care to our nation's veterans Supervising and managing all mental health services which include:
inpatient, outpatient, residential, specialty programs, and also the surrounding Community Based outpatient Clinics Exercising judgment in the selection of or adaptation of standard and accepted clinical theories, techniques, and practices in treating patients or developing new techniques and programs for the treatment of specialized problems or clinical populations Planning strategically for mental health care in both the inpatient and outpatient arenas Managing care Assuring compliance with regulatory/accreditation standards as well as VA performance measures and quality standards Monitoring and promoting cooperation and compliance with federal and state law and regulations, medical staff bylaws and rules, facility policies, ethical conduct, and Joint Commission standards as applicable Prioritizing patient access and high quality mental health care Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:
00am to 4:
30pm, this position may require early mornings, evenings and/or weekends and holidays.
Participation on the on-call rotation schedule to accommodate patient care needs during weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights is necessary.
