Physician (Medical Director, Community Living Center)
The Marion, Illinois VA Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible Physician to join the Extended Care Service.
This position is located in the Community Living Center at Marion, IL.
The Community Living Center is a 54 bed facility focusing on acute rehabilitation care, skilled nursing care and hospice care, for the veterans it serves.
Duties include, but may not be limited to:
o Provide administrative leadership over the Community Living Center program.
o Provide supervision for the Mid-level practitioners to include Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners.
o Assess Veterans by utilizing advanced clinical judgment and physical assessment skills.
o Identifying acute/non-acute chronic health problems.
o Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic tests.
o Adhere to clinical practice guidelines for patient chronic diseases.
o Conduct appropriate preventive screens and diagnostic tests.
o Inform Veterans in order to accomplish share-decision making inmedical treatment/regimes.
o Provide quality patient care to Veterans.
The incumbent will report to the Chief of Extended Care Service.
